I have a question for all of you experienced bowyers & technical guys:
If a particular bow out of a group shoots a 400 grain arrow faster than any of the others, is it a given that the same bow will also shoot a 700 grain arrow faster than the rest?

Depends on how much faster it was to start.  Long risered longbows that have, relatively speaking, shorter working limbs tend to throw light arrows very fast, but they do not perform as well with heavier arrows.  On the other hand, shorter risered longbows that have more working limb tend to shoot heavy arrows better, but won't shoot a lighter arrow much faster.  So depending on how much faster the bow shot to begin with, it may or may not shoot faster than the others with the heavier arrow.

I agree with Orion.  It's going to depend on the bow design.  Some bows transfer energy more efficiently when the arrow weight goes up. That's one of the nice things about the bow reviews Pete Ward does.  Three significantly different arrow weights, and the bow's speed with each, gives you a real good idea of a bow's true performance.
