I am on vacation in Texas, and just got back from a trip to Horne's Archery. Mark & Sandy are excellent people to deal with. They take customer service very serious. Instead of being treated like a potential customer, I was treated like a longtime friend. It was quite refreshing!! I almost forgot to tell you I ordered a 50# Traditionalist   :biglaugh:  What a great shooting longbow. Thanks Again Mark & Sandy.

Yes they are great people. Glad you had a good experience with them as well.

Mr.Magoo

I have a Brush Bow on order and I don't think I've heard a bad thing about the Horne's (the people or the bows).

LCB

You'll enjoy shooting the bow you ordered. I enjoy mine.

They have outstanding customer service. The bow I ordered from them didn't work out for me. My money was refunded quickly without a question. They are first-class people with a first-class operation.

Mr. Magoo what woods did you order? The only thing better than owning a Horne's bow is owning two!

Mr.Magoo

bentpole - I went with Goncalo Alves for the riser and Red Elm for the limbs ...

bentpole

Nice!Whoa almost ordered exactly the same bow until I asked Mark if he would do one out of silver gray dymond wood with maple limbs and black glass.

bentpole

Opps silver/black dymond wood

They are great folks, as are most of the bowyers in Texas.

I have a Horne's Traditionalist Mark is just readying to ship with a dozen Heritage 150's. Very nice people to deal with. (64", 52#@28", Bubinga riser/hard maple limb cores and black locust limbs)

Wudstix is right. A few years ago, I had a Great Plains Rio Bravo that needed repair a short time past warranty and they fixed it free anyway.

Yep...I don't own a Horne bow........but I've always enjoyed chatting with Mark.  Good folks.....and they make some dandy bows.  Hope and Faith....we are forever greatfull.

Couldn't agree more! I'm sold on the bows, the Bowyer, and the pretty lady that sets the schedule! Horne is top notch! CK

I just took receipt of a gorgeous Horne Combo Longbow, 62", 50# and 55# limbs, clear glass over goncalo alves limb veneers with bamboo cores, moradillo tips, the riser is goncalo alves with moradillo accents.  Very smooth pulling, crisp 'n' stable release, no nasties or aftershock, real fast little bugger.  Mark builds GREAT bows!

Although this is a hybrid longbow, with curved r/d limbs, she sports a nice classic "D" limb shape when braced and no "wobbles" on these rock solid limb tips.

The grain patterns on the limbs sure looks like real natural camo to me.

Now I just got to spin me up some real strings - endless, of course.    :D

My first Bow happens to be a T/D Mountain Recurve, 50 lbs @ 28" built by Mark. Shoots great! I love the woods in the bow. By the way the woods used in the bow is what caught my eye before I got a chance to shoot it. There was no question that this bow was mine after shooting it. I am the third owner of this bow and probally the last. I found it on a used rack in a NJ bow shop. One day I'll make the long trip to Texas and see Mark and Sandy and order one or two more for my son and I.

50lbs,
What arrow/broadhead do you find flies best from your bow?

I will be shooting 150 grain WW's and CX Heritage 150's from my new 52# longbow.

I am another satisified customer of Horne Archery.
I own a Mountain T/D recurve. 60" 50# @28" She is beautiful, fast, smooth, and shock free.

Hey Barclay, I have noticed that my Horne likes slightly stiffer spine arrows than my other 50#'s bows. Currently I throwing 30.5" Beman Camo ICS Hunters in the 500 size with 275 grains up front. But I can also shoot 30" 400's Beman too....with 275 up front.

anyone want to see a pic? i have posted it here before and thought you boys might be sick of seeing her.
