Looking for a good outfitter for a Jan 2008 archery, Javelina hunt.  I want to see some nice country, get a chance at a javelina, and possible scout an outfitter for a return trip in a year or two for elk or bear.  I am physically fit and look forward to hiking and don't mind camping out.  Not looking to hunt from a vehicle, or over bait.  I have never been on a guided hunt, so this will be my first.  Might even consider a combo deer/javelina hunt, but the javelina would be my first choice.  I will be traveling by myself, so can't be responsible for filling other slots, but don't have to have one on one attention.  I love the looks of the Arizona country and realize that it is a draw and one animal limit.
 Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Roadkill

I hunted there for years without a guide.  In those days it was over-the-counter tags.  Cal the main office and then get a line on biologist in different areas and call them up.  I ended up in Wickenberg one year, Tucson one year and north of Prescott anothe year.  One good or great thing is you can hunt either sex either kind of deer in January while hunting 'lenas.  the biologist can help wwith that too.  I never bought a tag, but saw some dandy Coues bucks and some great desert mulies while there.  Again, no guide, just a lot of bino work.  AZ is damn cold in Jan, especially at night.  I had one camp with 8 inches of snow on the tent, too.  Days are very pleasant.
The reservation around Globe will also book a hunt for you.  I think that is the Apache reservation, not sure.
