Ok first let me say this might not be do-able for my setup But I will ask the guru's here how to do it anyway   :D  I have a Assenheimer recurve on its way. In my anticipation and excitement I found a good deal on 55/75 shafts (not blems) and jumped on them. But after doing some research on here I might need a brick tied on up front.

I will only be pulling about 50# at 26" but according to Don Assenheimer's site the bow is cut past center. So Should I even attempt using these or sell them and buy some 35/55

It can work if they are left FULL Length with 100 grain brass inserts installed.  Then you could play with point weight to tune.  You would really be better off with 35/55's though.

CC is right. I'd be looking into some 35/55.

I Shoot GT 5575 with 100 grain brass insert and 150 grain Woodsman. I am shooting 55# @ 27 inches. They shoot great.

It all depends on the bow.
There is the bows amount of center cut, performance of the bow, draw length to take into consideration.
 There is no magic formula. I have 60# bows that have to have light spines and a 45# that takes a heavy spine.

You have them to try them with 100 gr brass inserts and heavy point weight. Leave them full length to start.
Points are cheap, so get some from 175 to 250, or if you feel adventuresome make up some SCUDS. 200 gr brass Ace points, 125 gr steel adapters , and put those in to the brass insert. That will knock of the spine to a managable level. I shoot these and for broadheads to match I use a 200 gr ace with the 125 steel adapters.  They hit with a thud a deaf man can hear.

My Assenheimer bows are not picky about arrows. My advice is to bareshaft the 55/75's with some 145 to 175 grn points and see what happens.
I can shoot 33/55's,  CX 250's & CX 45/60's, cut to about 30", 5" fletch, with 145 grns up front. I hunt with the same arrows with 150 grn snuffers. The bow draw weights are from 46# @ 28" to 54# @ 28". Arrow flight is great.

I switched my order to 35/55 camo's that they had. Arrow flight is more important than looks. I wanted the traditional look.

Good choice, I would still think ya would want a 27" arrow or close to that, so I would still add a 50 grain brass insert and than experiment with point weight. I would expect 175 or so would get ya close, but it will be light. Shawn

My homemade 42# @ 28" bamboo lam. bow (no glass)shoots perfectly w/ 29" 55-75s 125gr field points, 200gr brass inserts.
@ my 28 1/2 draw.
They fly like darts, but drop like rocks after about 25m. (they leave the bow at an average 142fps)
The penetration is awesome for a 42# bow!
