I am partial to phenolic and G10....have two Bob Lee Ultimates and a TimberGhost phenolic with a G10 TG on the way...also have other phenolic models...prefer the added mass and its durability in enduring approximately 100 hunts per season.

The Bob Lee Ultimate look great, i wish i could try one someday.

What stands out in this topic is the greater weight of these bows or rivers. For a recurve it is a plus in the stability of the shot

I'm a big fan of weight in the middle of the riser handle.

You might also want to keep your eyes open for a Bear 67 ½ Super Kodiak. (Black Beauty) Those risers are also made from phenolic. That was my first real hunting bow and to be honest, I don't know why I ever bought another bow.

My father told me about this model... I would really like to find one but I don't dream too much, these bows are carefully guarded and I totally understand that.
I still keep my eyes open!

For my part i spoked from a visual impression.

I understand, these parameters may seem incidental but can change the situation in fact.

So what do we say? These bows are pleasantly suitable for harsh situations

If micarta is an option, I have Liberty English take down that has a micarta riser that I really like. It's a pleasant shooting bow and takes down to two pieces, about thirty four inches each.
Just guessing a take down bow would make shipping easier, cheaper.

Phenolic is a good heavy riser option.  Also, a great take down option.

It's a bit nebulous when you look at the calculation of customs fees, it's flat rates and percentages that add up but it keeps increasing.
My father has a friend in the USA who sent him some vintage broadheads.
He got $50 worth of customs even though it was a gift...
In short, it's a bit of a shame to be able to trade with you...
So I don't think the fact that it can be dismantled has much impact on the bill!

You probably know this but in the case of my bow which is a bow bolt takedown, micarta offers more strength for that and is a little heavier. A good friend Allen Boice made this bow and he is now deceased.

I just sent the photo as an example; they do not all look the same. Highly unlikely I would ever sell this one.

Yeah we said it above, micarta is a good choice for a robust hunting bow. I totally understand you , it's the kind of bow that we keep for life, only for what it represents.Sorry for your friend, may he rest in peace.

Thanks you, i really enjoy to see a community with so many people and shared experience! Yeah we can hunt with a bow in France but only recently compared to you. Late 90s early 2000s legalization took place.

We have to go through a day of training which provides a certificate, but it is not a very popular way of hunting, and the traditional ones are very rare. 90% of compounds...
For those who are game, everything that is legally huntable with a rifle... during the season of course 

There are other options with a combination of wood and G-10 that gives you the mass weight and strength, plus the look of wood.... The Sasquatch Special that i custom build has a full G-10 overlay on the back of the riser and a G-10 I beam combined. Here are a couple to look at.

I was thinking that if I had to pick up a bow in the future it would be a Schafer but now you're making me hesitate!
