Yeah, you don't need a 55 gallon drum to know he's a shooter.

If I would have paused for just 2 more seconds coming out one evening, as depending on the area we move to more lite spots for 10 more minutes of hunting, I would have had a broadside shot of a Mac Daddy, but he came out from behind a mountain laurel on a well used trail I was monitoring as I took a step and he busted hell wide open when he saw me in movement.  Yeah, he had a hunch back and he was 15 yards from me at the most.

My friend Doug has me telling about it on film, but it would need to be edited a bit for this site as I was so hyped up that evening.  I had already stalked one smaller bear an hour earlier for 60 yards before he finally caught me.  I could never close the gap because of the drought that year.  It was like walking on rice crispys.  I could just never close the gap closer than 30 yards, and he was facing away from me as I was tailing him.... he just never would turn right or left to give me a shot.  Wild evening.

That was in the ferns pic I posted earlier.  Etched in my mind for ever both of those encounters.

THAT is what bowhunting is about!!!

You bet Ryan, as we have kinda been gifting each other back and forth... I just got the two to make sure I had the amo just in case of chaos that seems to rule my life..... Going to load up another 2 tomorrow I hope.  I'm just a stickler on sanding and cleaning furrels and adapters for SOLID connections. I'm always willing to share if need be so I'm going to do my best to have 6 ready just in case my partner needs a couple.  Bears need big multiblades due to the long fur if they run into the nasty this GA thickets.  As you know, this aint my 1st rodeo.

My friend Keith and I drug this Cohutta wild boar I shot out of the mess behind me into a small open area for a photo.  Keith deemed the area 'Little Cambodia'.

Guys n Gals, I want to make this clear, I am not trying to over hype this hunt...

These animals are in there but this is a HARD hunt, but it's one heck of an adventure.  You aren't on private, lease, national forest, or management area...... this is Wilderness.  You never know what you might see at any time.  The anticipation is riveting at times.  We will be inside of a 95,000 acre management area in the 33,000 acres of Wilderness in the middle. 

This is some of the most rugged terrain in GA, yet I have managed to also find not so rugged productive areas.  When I do say rugged, mostly forested rugged and some rocky areas within the trees.  Some  very steep, and some moderate elevations changes.

Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to going with Jimmy as with my youngest graduating college and then me moving them into an apartment in NYC I have not been in there in a few years.  I'm hyped up myself.

OK, here's the sorry of the Hardy's Frisco Sandwich.  These photos I have posted were all pre Tradgang, i.e. over 20 years ago, when the 1st trail cams came out.  I was using the original Trailcam fiberglass rectangle box, simple Simon but it worked.

So, I had some buiz in Chatsworth GA and I decided to check my cam and replace the ROLL of film, yes, ROLL of film.  I stopped at Hardy's for a Frisco Sandwich and headed up the mountain, change out the roll in the cam and got out of there.

Then a week later, same thing..... except when I got to the camera it was jacked sideways with 5 puncher marks in it.  They bear evidently smelled the Frisco and wanted in on it.... so here are the pics from that roll.

There will for surely be a White oak tree that Jimmy will visit and maybe he will take pictures.... The bark is diagonal from the bears climbing this huge tree for a hundred years.
