Idk about Texas but heat is relative and you acclimate to where you live. In winter for example you go to Fla and I bet Texas is the same they wear winter coats and imo it's still summer and wear shirts and a tank top.
I just plain and simple shoot during any heat.  No drama, no thought about it. I'm an electrician though and if I've got to dig or backfill a trench middle of the day during a heat wave I just do it. If I've got to get in an attic to work on an air handler or recessed lights so be it, if I've got to climb to work on pole lights in a heat wave well that's my job that day. Shooting when I get home with sweat still running down my nose after I worked out in that same heat is a relaxing, fun thing. Now super cold is much more challenging with numb fingers and lots  of layers on plus beat up joints/muscles  disagreeing with the cold.

I don't think I'll ever acclimatize to 103-108 degree heat at 6pm.  Then it finally starts to cool and might only be 100 at dark.  You're right being from PA it never gets cold in Texas!

Hasn't been too horrible here in the midwest, though some days recently the humidity has been so thick you can cut it with a knife. Generally, I try to sneak out maybe half an hour before sunset when the cooler breezes come moving in and get in 50-75 arrows.

For us that cool is the last hour before sun-up, in pink light.  Temps usually under 80 degrees.

It's like that here in deer season, last weekend over 100+ July 6 to the end of July for archery
A zone you just have to deal with the heat, the deer are there, just have to find them.

We got up and on range by 0630. Done with 45 targets in a couple hours. That was before I got old, 75. Now I don't have to go out , our sportsman club has an indoor range. These past few years I have slowed down, 78 next month. Now I am on a heart med that says stay out of the sun unless all covered up. Maybe when it gets down to low 100's next month?

I Mt Bike in the early light for a couple hours, then do a dozen or so just at dark in 100 degree heat.

Just saw a statistic that Texas is number one in the country for heat related deaths.  So I guess there is some validity to saying it's pretty darn hot here.

I didn't die shooting this evening.   But maybe a pig will in the morning if one dares get close.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

We've already hit 107F here and been I've 100 quite a few times this summer. We're slated to hit 107 again this weekend. When the temps are that high it's still too hot for me most mornings. I generally shoot through my living room, down the hallway and into the bathroom when it hits the mid 90s or so.
7 "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.
9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

When I say, "a little cool" I mean less than 100 degrees!!!  Shooting in my house is NOT AN OPTION, just ask my wife.
