Received my new 2021 59 Kodiak last week. I really like the dull satin finish and brown/caramel glass. Braced at 6 7/8" to the throat, this 50# bow really shoots. For me a grip only contacting the throat with the base of thumb works best on this bow. This is one of the most impressive bows I have shot in 35 years. Any other 59ers out there?

I received mine last Friday. 2022 green glass model 40 @ 28. I draw it to 29.5. It is a joy to shoot!

I picked one up two years ago. I am very pleased with it.

Steelhead

I had a newer one.The one I had was finely crafted with no flaws and good wood.Very nice shooter!

Pressure at base of thumb for me as well.Very quiet bow and stable.

Had quite a few replicas by other Bowyers.Non shot any better for me than the the newer reintroduction built by Bear.

I got one in 2021 right before they went to the new color scheme. I really prefer the brown/caramel glass compared to the new ones. I love the look and history of the 59 Kodiak. I found that I had to go slightly above recommended brace height (8.5") to get the best sound. I took a shot at a hog with it a week and a half ago, but I was unable to recover it after hitting it a little high and back. Totally my fault, I got a little trigger happy and wasn't patient enough.

I have been wanting one for a long time.....just wasn't  sure with a 30" draw.  29.5" sounds hopeful now.

I've been itching to get one of these for a few years now . . . it will happen.  They look great!

I really like mine. Has shot well for me and draws smooth.

Had a caramel one and regretfully sold it. Would love to see some pics of the newer green ones though.

does all the kodiak 59 come with a leather grip handle or are some wood...thanks

David Mitchell

I sure do like my Kodiak.  I much prefer the brown/caramel glass, and mine came with the leather grip.

The green ones come with a dark brown leather grip in a bag. I like it better just the way it is, so I didn't install it.

Wow the green is nice! Bear needs to step up there picture game on there site. The pics of them in the wild are far superior than there web sites and retailers for sure. Keep the greenie pics coming if anyone else has them

I've always loved the Bear green glass. Love to get a takedown with the green glass limbs 3 Rivers has now.
