One more pic of some 2018s, carried these with me on my 2021 elk hunt. These have a 4" four fletch. Hope to draw a tag again this year and take them back to Colorado.

Jason

SUPER NICE!!!  Are those 4 fletch?

Yes, 4" 4 fletch on some old school 2018s I cut the swagged nock end off and added the uni bushing so I could use lighted nocks.  Carried these in 2021 on my last elk hunt, if you look at my avatar you can see my set up, carried one in my bow quiver, and the rest in my cat quiver.  Hopefully they will be heading back to Colorado this fall.

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

Northern Mist Skanee, those limbs make a 66" bow and are 55# at 28". I have another set that make a 60" bow and are 45# at 28". And am currently waiting patiently for a set to make a 62" bow and will be 50-52# at 28". I carried one broadhead in my bow quiver, with 3 judos, and had the rest of my broadheads in my cat quiver. The other arrows in my bow quiver were judos in case I saw any grouse.

Well i could stand it no longer...I have 6 2018s on the way. Now comes the fun part, figuring out what colors and fletch to use.

I been liking the all solid colours lately. Fletchings, and wraps the same. Next bunch will be just all yellow. Pope and young style feathers maybe

So i got a package Monday in the mail, not sure where I'm going with these, but will try to do a build along. First dip is a carbon primer from True North, I've had good luck using it on aluminum as well. I used a scotch pad and roughed up the aluminum a bit, sorry 3Rivers I took your logo off.  :goldtooth:  This is an 11 1/2" dip, as I said not sure where I will end up with colors, but will keep you posted.

Not much change from last picture, white dip over the primer.  More to come.  :bigsmyl:

Decided to go with chartreuse dip. Now to figure out crest colors and patterns.

I went to my parents and found 8 autumn orange arrows of mine 25-30 years old. Most vanes gone. Few nocks. Few inserts etc.  I don't think they're bent.  Their 1916s. What spine is that comparable to. It says it's a .623 deflection.

Had a moment to look up a chart.  From what I see, these arrows cut to 27" or longer with a 125 gr tip, would only be only good for 35# recurve.  I didn't realize these were so weak.  Is this correct?

I couldn't remember where I got them at the time.  But it dawned on me. Bad memories came back of asking my mother for arrows on Xmas.   I remember seeing them Xmas morning.

They should be around a 600 spine, which would make them like a 35-55 in old gold tip terms. At 27" they would be a bit stiffer but would weaken as you added forward weight. I would guess they would be ok out of a 35-40# bow, but would be weak out of heavier poundage.

Ahh. No good then. I have a 49# recurve roots gamemaster 1968.  And a Martin savannah 55#.  I pull 26.5".  Shame. I was happy to get them and maybe put some life back into them. I remember fondly getting them for Xmas
