Howdy folks! I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Steve and the tradbow bug bit me really hard! 10-12 years ago I gave it a shot and gave up on it. A few years later I met some guys and got to be great friends with them over the years and have been hunting with them for quite sometime. My buddy Clay is a very accomplished tradbow hunter and loaned me a Bob Lee longbow last year. After a lot of coaching and a lot of practice I got to where I felt comfortable hitting a large house if I was standing pretty close to it. A couple of failed opportunities later I finally broke down and bought my own. It's a Bob Lee BlackHawk 40# @28" (I'm closer to a 30" draw) and poured my heart into getting better with it. After bowhunting for 26 years I fell in love with shooting a bow again.

Make no mistake; just because I love it doesn't mean I'm good at it yet but I'm constantly learning more and getting better. I'm fortunate to be able to hunt a highly populated piece of ground in SE Oklahoma and after 7 blown opportunities I finally found myself following a trail of crimson leaves with a bloody arrow in my hand that ended with my first tradbow kill. It's a sense of accomplishment that I can't wait to get again!

Thanks for having me and please be patient with all of the rookie questions that will follow over the next few months. The learning curve has been steep and rocky for this ol boy but I've never been afraid of hard work. It's good to be around likeminded hunters!

The only bad questions are the ones not asked- so feel free as all of us started somewhere. Congrats on your first trophy. :shaka:
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Welcome...ya found the right place for like minded hunters...we all love red arrows!!!

I wish there had been this much help for new guys back in the 60's. Maybe I wouldn't have taken so long to hit that big broadside barn.
Wish u the best  :wavey:
