I was able to take this large doe last Thursday. I haven't posted a success story in quite awhile so I thought I would share. The setup was absolutely perfect and she came right down the trail I'd hoped. The shot was about 12 yards, broadside. I shot her as she was walking very slowly and hit slightly back from where I hoped. I am always on the fence about stopping them, and I'm usually afraid to put them on alert, but I have trouble leading them and usually end up hitting slightly back when I shoot at walking deer. The shot was lethal though, complete pass through. She trotted about 30 yards from impact, tucked her tail between her legs and bedded down, after about 30 seconds I could see her head rest for the last time. It was a really fun hunt and I'm super grateful to be able to put meat on the table early in the season. Best of luck to everyone this year!

What snuffer did you use -- 160 gr? glue-on, or the 125 gr glue-on?
I have a handful of both and I think they are great heads.
I am curious.

Congratulations!  It stinks missing the spot you want to hit but hard to argue with the results you got.
The key is often just not to stop your swing as you release.  Easier said than done.  I practice it on coons and pigs.

Joe, they are actually 145 grain glue ons. I glue a 100 grain steel adapter into them, making them about 250 grains on a 2219, total arrow weight right around 740 grains. Packs a punch.
The snuffer is my all time favorite head. I've been looking for 160 glue ons, but have not been able to find any.

Bow was a recurve that I built, 70#@ 28 inches. Easton 2219 right around 740 grains.

Congratulations on the doe.  Did you get the grip clicker to go off on the shot?  If not you still got the desired results!  And that's a heck of a bow/arrow combination.

Thanks man, no i definitely didn't get the clicker to go off. But i had no problem holding on target. Which is normally my issue. I like the clicker don't get me wrong but i feel like it would be difficult to activate it in hunting situations. I don't know for sure though i still need to practice more with it.
