Well were back in the states and what a group of guys and great bowhunters as well. I think that 7 of us bowhunting traditional and primitive took 15 animals.
I finished my six year 4 different trips with 5 weeks of hunting in that time and completed the South African Spiral Horn Slam with a sinew backed osage bow, the first time done as far as anyone knows of.

Here are some of the pictures of the kills and I know that I don't have all. you guys jump in and add what you have.

This is my eland taken with a 700 grain hickory arrow with a 125 single bevel Grizzly head up front, we saw him fall about 75 yards from the shot.

This was the forth and final animal needed to complete the slam. A Bushbuck, 18 yard shot and a bout 80 yard recovery. Using a 600 grain Surewood shaft and a 125 grizzly and 75 grain woody weight. David Lawson made the arrow for me for this and other hunts. Bow was the same 60 lb sinew backed osage. Shot was quartering to me and I shot from the point of the shoulder passing out the off side ham, going the length of the animal.

Terry Hughes took a huge Impala!

Good friend Tommy Leach got a nice Nyala and a good Impala

Todd made a great shot on a nice Gemsbok and Nyala

Taylor and a nice Red Hartebeest and Impala

Logan got a real nice Kudu and a couple of Impala

Gerald got an Impala and a Wildebeest

Guys, I'm beat from the trip and this is all the pictures that I had and I know that its not all that were shot. I will try and tell a bit about the hunt tomorrow or Monday after I have got some sleep, been up for about two days traveling.

Terry, I got your Impala arrow!

Thanks for the opportunity Mike.  It was a blast.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Cool! I've gotten everything but the eland with a stickbow. Don't know that I have enough bow to get the eland now though!!!!

Bisch as close as they were to the blind I sat in I'm sure you could get an arrow in the right spot and your mid forties would be adequate.  If you need one a little heavier, I know a guy. 😎

This was a good trip.  Louis is a gracious host who has put together a great staff who to a person are kind, friendly and hard working to ensure your hunt is enjoyable and successful.  The wildlife there is fun to enjoy and I made some memories I'll not soon let go of.

You can't imagine the friendship that bonds hunter and PH after a quest like this. Six years in the making and 4 different trips to South Africa. We capped it off with one of the best shots of my life and a memory that neither of us will ever forget. Louis at Sofala is a class act and a man that I am proud to call a friend.

Louis sent this video collage of the animals taken on this trip.  Enjoy.
