Was looking at getting one of these quivers for my recurve and wondered what people's experience has been with each of the styles?

Most of my bows are one-piece so I use strap on longbow quiver, I have one TD recurve that I got a quick detach for but haven't mounted it.

I have used the slide on Selways for years.....

Cup of warm water, add a good squirt of dish soap, soap up the limbs, and slide it down past where the fade out ends.

Wipe off the excess soapy water and hang horizontal overnight. You'd swear it was glued on...
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

I use them all at times.
I use the strap on quiver the most so I can take it off for hunting situations

Steelhead

Have had many  of the slide ons for curves, longbows and hybrids over about 25 years.Very happy with those quivers. So solid and durable and quiet with the rubber components.Mount like suggested in one of the posts above.I work em down as far as I can down the fadeouts

I have gone to mini rawhide hoods on those. The hood is smaller and slightly lighter. But plenty of room for any 4 broadheads made.I think they look better with thier smaller footprint if that matters to you

I think the strap on which I have not had will spread the gripper and the hood farther apart.

Good quivers the Selway

I had a Selway slide-on on my longbow for a while, really nice quiver , solid,  good looking, and it was practical. And I like practical.

Only reason I changed to a strap-on quiver, was my take-down bow wouldn't fit in my solid bowcase with the Selway slip-on quiver attached when the bow was taken apart.

So nothing wrong with a Selway at all. I like them a lot

Good hunting to you all.

Most of all, may the appreciation and the gratitude of what we do keep us humble......

Selway slide on is all I use. Rock solid and silent. These are not a quick detachable quiver. It takes a few minutes to get them off. Like woodchucker said almost like they are glued on.

Deertaker

I have a bolt on for my Blackwidow and 2 slide on's and agree with everyone that the slide on's are rock solid! the bolt on is pretty good, but can turn a bit if not in tight enough.
They are also great people, don't hesitate to give them a call!

Just got the slide on model. Love it and couldn't be happier. Thanks to everybody for the replies.

Nothing wrong with the strap on Quiver. I use both slide on and strap on. Here is one on my Grizzly.

Ken Taylor

I've been using bow quivers for many years.

I have both types, two different manufacturers, and I also prefer the slide on models from Selway for the reasons stated... and it may not be important, but I think that the slide on models also look better.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Squirrel Hunter

Selway slide on is the most solid mounted quiver I've used, but I prefer the convenience of strap-ons. Selway and Thunderhorns do not fit thick-limbed trad longbows well but are great for anything else.

I have a bunch of Selway quivers I have used the quick detach since 2005 never had a problem I have 5 of them, you can't go wrong with any of the Selway quivers

I have a slide on model on one of my longbows. It's super solid as everyone else has said. I've never tried to take it off but it seems to be stuck on there pretty good.

Sawpilot 75

I have been using them since 1992 I believe. I have tried every model they have made and they are all good quality but I prefer the new strap on style. Most of my risers are long so I can capture my shafts lower and have a solid profile with less arrow to vibrate. Just my preference and opinion. Give Drew a call, great product.
