As we all are getting ready for deer season, it is time to once again remind everybody to watch out for Mr. Noshoulders. This came to mind due to an article in Georgia Outdoor News magazine. A fellow in Morgan County, just a couple of counties over from me, ran into a snake while checking on a stand. The interesting thing is he was 20 feet up in the tree when he realized he was face to face with a three feet long Timber Rattler in his stand. Fortunately, the snake was very docile, and the hunter got him out of the stand and did not get bitten. That is a good reminder to all of us to beware. Keep your eyes open and wear snake boots. Otherwise, you may wind up peeing your pants, or worse. Good hunting!

Found a copperhead on my seat cushion on top of a 15' ladder stand that way once.
He didn't make it.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Never thought a timber rattler be that high. I've never even seen one climb.

The facebook group Missouri Snake just posted a video of a Copperhead climbing way up in a tree at night.  Pretty cool video.

Not nearly as high; but I found a water moccasin in the grate area of my gas grill (that was in my garage) a few years back.

One time as I was getting into the stand I reached up on the seat of a hang on and grabbed a fist full of corn snake.  I dang near fell out of the tree.

Good reminders.
With all this heavy rain and flooding recently they'll certainly be on the  move for higher ground.
