As many of you know, my boys & I only shoot wood arrows.

Many years ago, I picked up a dozen wood arrows at a yard sale. They had 4-blade Eskimos on them.
I shot them into a hay bale a few at a time, and the points were coming off pulling them from the bale.
I replaced the broadheads with field points, and used them for practice arrows.

My boys & I switched to wood arrows about 10 years ago or so....
I have never lost a point, using good old Ferrule-tite to glue them on.
I've used Bear Razorheads (without the bleeders) and 2-blade Eskimos for years, and never lost a point.
I bought a couple dozen 2-blade Deltas this Spring, to use this year...
I mounted them all, and they are rock solid!!!

A few weeks ago, I bought a dozen 4-blade Deltas to try...
I pulled the 2-blades on a half dozen arrows, and mounted the 4-blades on them... They looked DEADLY!!! :scared:

Yesterday, I got my file, and set down to sharpen them. I knocked off 4, of the 6  broadheads... :dunno:
SO, I pulled the new 4-blades, and put the 2-blade Deltas back on. Again, they're rock solid!!!!

Am I doing something wrong??? Missing something???  :help:

Thanks in advance!!!   :notworthy:

Did ya clean the inside of the new deltas before mounting them?  Just a thought.

You need to clean up the taper on the shaft and clean out the ferrel I use a small pyramid wire brush for the inside of the head I get them from Three Rivers attach it to my electric drill and hold the head with a pliers dont hold it in your fingers. Gets your head on the inside  nice and shiny then a q tip and denatured alcohol .

Acetone on the inside of the ferrules and shaft point tapers.  The Zwickey will end up being bare, clean metal in there.  You'll get solid adhesion  :archer2:

I clean my furrels with mineral spirits or acetone, then sand papered my furrels with a rolled up cone of sand paper, then cleaned them again with mineral spirits or acetone and mounted them with no issues.

With Zwickeys if you don't do that you are gluing to paint which is not viable after weakening with glue of any sorts.

I lost a beater I'd never hunt with ribtech and lost one to a target also because I didn't follow my own advice.

I use a small round file and alcohol but I also use A&B epoxy to mount heads.
