I had given up on ever going.  Didn't figure I would ever get another chance and couldn't afford it in the past when I had chances.
Then Mike put up that group hunt post.  Dunno why but just had something saying this is it.
Good business year going so I have the extra funds, timing with other planned hunts around it was right . . .
I'm excited and nervous and . . . .
Thanx Mike!!!
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

That's awesome. I'm so glad Terry brought it over to PowWow :campfire: Those are some beautiful animals in some beautiful country.

Congratulations & Well Done. :clapper:

I made it to Namibia last year and I'm already considering when I can make it back...

BillyJack1975

Very cool, this is on my short list!

Witherstick

Being honest, there are many good hunting operations in Africa. BUT, you can't go wrong with Sofala.  It is run by an honest man of outstanding character and faith.

Seriously, those going with Mike are in for an unbelievable adventure.  Those considering going to Africa owe it to themselves to check with Sofala.

Witherstick

For those heading to Sofala for the first time, the land behind us is where some of where you will be hunting.

I can't believe that my wife and I waited until our late fifties to make this trip.  But better late than never.

Thanks for pulling this over to PowWow Terry!  Beautiful animals!  I love my Wildebeest and Impala, but i could chase Warthogs all day long!  The Limpopo province is some beautiful country!  Thanks for sharing!

Yeah Randy, I WISH they would have let me chase the hogs, I don't think they have a clue as to how we hunt them here.  I've I could have gotten out of that tower blind for two days after I killed my impala I had them pegged dead to right.

They would come beside of of the huge water reservoir tanks to a certain spot to stop and survey they watering trough.  Just barely around the crest of the reservoir tanks was the perfect bush that was now behind them and not of their concern.  It was a perfect set up, and all I could is watch over and over.

I decided to pass on a nice warthog on our last day there. I was hoping for a zebra that never showed that day although I had seen them earlier in the week.  It was a difficult pass. The warthog actually had a nice golf ball size black patch right over the heart. Plus, it was perfectly broadside with its front legs on a stone and head down drinking.  It was situated so that there was very little chance of that dreaded "ducking" scenario.  But I wanted the zebra that day.

Terry, I don't think they aren't as restrictive on how you hunt any longer.  They have a gentleman coming from Europe that doesn't want to shoot from a blind or elevated at all. They are going to try to accommodate him

Terry Green

Kirk, no worries.  I never mentioned it to Louis, but when I did to my guide twice he really didn't want to even reply.

I had a blast regardless.

Peter Juulsgaard.  Seems like an interesting guy.  Can shoot a bow for sure.  Watched a couple of his YouTube videos.
I'm sure he'll post something on it after his hunt.

I messaged Peter Juulsgaard after he posted his video and plans to hunt Africa.
He told me he also booked a hunt in September with Sofalas! Dude can definitely shoot, you might get a chance to visit with him Gary.
Looking forward to hearing about y'all's adventure!

Get bamboo.

We wish we were going back in September with you guys.  If you have time and feel like really getting into the brush ask Louis about their largest baobab tree.

We used a type M converter.

Terry, absolutely forgot to mention the food.  It is amazing. You won't go hungry.  We actually put a little weight on.
This type?

Yes.

This is the one that we used.  Now, I will say that we stayed in the chalet.  I don't know whether an adapter is already available in the house.
