I talked with my Postman today and discussed some of the things you mentioned...  He said, "Is this guy's name, Mad Max??"   I said, Yes...  He said, "We just plain out, don't like the Guy.."

With rippers like that, and a massive post count, how come Shredd isn't in the HOF??

Staying under the radar comes natural...

I can go to a party and 200 pictures will be taken and I won't be in one of them... And I'm not even trying to avoid them...

That's a good tip Kirk, wish I'd have known that one before they broke a phenolic riser longbow in two right in the center of the riser! Still trying to figure out how they did that one.
If you guys are shipping a lot of volume, look into stamps.com. It costs $15.95 a month (if I remember correctly), but it saves me a TON of $$ using their volume discounts. It offers the option of using UPS or USPS and you can quickly compare the rates. My bow boxes are 28"x2"x9", typically weigh 4 lbs and cost me about $12 on average to ship around the country via UPS. I personally have much better luck with punctual deliveries via UPS. I will NEVER ship via USPS from Thanksgiving until after the first of the year. I've had too many packages arrive after Christmas.

I talked to the people at the party and they did not want you in the pictures.

What happens is they roll around an get sideways on a conveyor belt, and stop on the conveyor support uprights. then all the packages behind it back up and it snaps the pvc tube in half, or just folds it up.... They also roll around in the trucks while out for delivery. Sometimes right out the door. :scared: :scared: :o :o

I'm noting that some are using plastic downspouts.   Might be good for an ASL.

I'd still wrap cardboard around it... that plastic is slippery.  Keep in mind these packages are not always handled by hand, and can easily slide off a conveyer belt.

Just tape two triangle boxes together, and call it good. They are free at USPS and they work fine..... if you are shipping over sea's, build a wooden crate.

I mailed my swap bow in a 2" x 3" vinyl downspout. A mild r/d  longbow fits nice and tight with some bubble wrap on the tips and around the riser.

I also use the postal service triangle boxes. I figure (hope) the P.O. workers might show it some respect, since it has their logo on it. It's good to reinforce them a little. Lightweight sheetrock corners, glued in the corners, give longitudinal stiffness.
I think it helps to fill all the space inside the box. I spray foam the bow in place on one end, stuff it full of air cells or bubble wrap, and foam the other end.

You use spray foam inside the box?  Wow! Never heard of that one before. I'll bet those are fun to open. :o :o

Nothing that a little tannerite can't handle...😜

I actually did a complete spray foam job on a couple bows. It was completely bomber. A bow floating in a mass of protective foam. Made the box totally rigid too.
Was not very popular. Not the first time I've been cursed at
It was a PIA to shrink wrap the bow.
Spray foam got expensive so I stopped filling them up. It's a great way to protect the tips and it keeps the bow centered in the box. There is no way to damage the package filled with foam, unless someone is really trying to.

Whats tannerite?

Explosives might be overkill for opening a cardboard box with some foam in it
