I'm in SW Nebraska.  Turkey numbers to me seem significantly down.  Any others with similar observations?
Not around these parts. You go for a walk in the woods and you gotta kick them outa the way.  Of course that is,  until you sneak in before sun up,  sit silent and undetectable and try to call one in to shoot

The season here ends Sunday; but I've seen more turkeys this year than the last 5 years combined. That said, no turkey harvest pictures.
I've learned a lot of lessons this year. The most important one is the use of a string tracker. Hunting dense woods with lots of brush piles causes a lot of grief.

Had one at 12 yds today in full strut. Unfortunately it was on my blind side and when I stood up to stretch in the blind it must have seen me thru the netting. He ghosted in.

I'd shoot a jake. 😀
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Big Jim custom

It's over here in N.C. all our hens are on the nest. Saw 4 Longbeards today 8:15 hanging together scratching bugs in a field. Season ended Saturday. If there were any hens to be had these guys would have been fighting instead of eating. Good luck guys been a tough season from what I am hearing.

I feel for you all.  I've been trying to kill one with my bow for almost 20 years.  Reluctantly, I started hunting them out of a blind with good decoys a few years back and started getting better opportunities.  I am a long longbow guy so blinds were tough and finally went to trying with a short hybrid/recurve.  Well, 2 years ago I finally hit one solidly and made the mistake of letting it bleed out for 20 minutes....and a yote grabbed it and ran off leaving me nothing but the tail!  This year I flinched badly and hit my decoy squarely in the head after a jake spurred it and was standing adjacent.  That will teach that decoy for getting beat up by a jake.  One day! :banghead:
