Since I have become a member of tradgang I have recieved a lot of help
which I am very grateful for.
So could someone indulge me one more time about the great plains
models A&B longbows, how do you all rate them.

Obviously not a popular american bowmaker then?

I used to own two recurves from the original owner and have sold/ traded both.
Only reason was one was way too heavy for my hand and other was I saw something else I wanted so off it went.
Now the B model in the recurve I had was a takedown model with East India rosewood and maple riser. Bamboo limbs and it was very very smooth and quick.
I never owned their longbows so I can't say anything about the performance but the recurves were made very well and performed great.
Just give folks time to read your post cause many work every day and I'm sure someone may come along and give their opinion on one.
Now if I had to rate how well it's made and performance on the ones I owned from original bowyer it would be a 10 out of a possible 10

I have the Osage take down longbow. It's a nice bow and my go to hunting bow.

I had a Kiowa recurve 60" that pulled more than it was marked.  Can't recall if it was marked 65# or if that was what it pulled.  That wasn't a concern to me.  Talked to the company owner and he said there was a stretch when the scales were off.  No clue what the wood was traded for it from a friend.  This was back in the early 90's.  I named her "Bad Penny" because we traded that bow back an forth several times, and he finally got it back.  This bow was a Plain Jane, well assembled, Matte finish, fit in hand well and shoot very good, took a couple pigs with her.  I would rate that bow a 9.5 and was a good hunting bow.
