One I do not like is: run-n-gun. Aggressively going after elk with a bugle and bow

Back in Maine a small buck was sometimes a "little dubber" or dubber.
Learn, practice and pass on "leave no trace" ethics, no matter where you hunt.

Bucco921

Dink, Button head, Nanny (mature doe), Sex swing (buddies making fun of my saddle), "The Big One" (Inside joke among-st our crew after buddy shot "the big one" which turned out to be a tiny 8 point)

Matt Fowler

whole mess, little more than a s**t load

NY Yankee

He's a shooter, he's on my hit list, he's a shooter buck, that's a sho' 'nuf bigun, I gave um a parking ticket, gave um a ride home in the back of my truck, killed um with my ol' stick and string (holds up a $2500.00 compound with a dozen gadgets on it), killed um with my ol smoke pole ($1000.00 stainless steel in-line muzzleloader with synthetic stock and #600.00 scope), boy howdy that was a long poke, I drug um a far piece.

I've heard all of these. Never said any of them myself out of a sense of self-respect.
"Elk don't know how many feet a horse has!"

STICKBENDER98

Mully or Slick Head,= does, can add big ole in front of either, or little to indicate size.

Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

Pine

Saw n'utin but balled bucks.
It's easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled. Mark Twain

If you're afraid to offend, you can't be honest.

First one to tag at the deer camp.

Pauljr77

"Coal Hearth" vehicle sized flat spot found all over the mountains in central Pa. I'm sure they had something to do with logging on mining limestone but that's what I was taught to call them. They typically have scrapes on them...

DNewer

#29
Rocking chair head -a buck they had antlers akin to a rocking chair on top of his head

Chop stick head - spike

Key chains -mythical 5 year old or older buck with less than 3 inches of antlers on each side.

Patrick effin Kelly- legendary hog hunter know for the amount of hog death left in his wake

Lucky penny- penny that is found during the hunt that if blames for success of the hunt

Pawldcast- the best of the best bowhunters have a platform called pawldcast where they can create their own echo chambers for what makes a great Bowhunter (not to be confused with podcasts)

Ashby haters-typically pawldcast hosts who make up studies that are designed to create a narrative to detract from the Ashby Studies but in reality are useless random andectotal information that more than not actually validates the Ashby Study

Jansport-a hunting back pack thet does not cost $800-1000 to carry 400 feet to the deer stand.

Trenton G.

Michigan 11 point - spike buck
Were they bald or balled? - my question whenever someone tells me they saw a deer
Way back in the Gankas and Gudus (probably spelled that wrong) - term I heard from an old timer up here at school. Means to go way back into what I would call the boondocks. Not entirely sure what those terms mean, all I know is that you go over the gankas and you go through the gudus haha

A Lex

Cutlery - Knife
"Where's your Cutlery?"

Cloth Ear'd Doe - Big old long nose doe
"Only saw a couple of Cloth Ear'd does"

Cashews - Refering to an immature male deer, i.e small testicals
"He only had Cashews"

You're right Terry, good fun thread.

Best
Lex
Good hunting to you all.
May the wind be your friend, and may your arrows fly true,
Most of all, may the appreciation and the gratitude of what we do keep us humble......

wood carver 2

Doinker. What a guy from our moose camp called any bull with small antlers.
He still shot them though... 😁
Dave.
" Vegetarian" another word for bad hunter.

Pine

Ground shrinkage.....
The longer a deer lays on the ground after you shot it, the smaller it gets before recovery.
