What is the opposite of a shortie called? Is it a longie?

"Longie" in English.  In Japan all bows are called Yumi.  But they have a particular traditional assymetrical extra-long bow called a Daikyū (大弓) 7-8 ft long (2.4-2.7 meters).

Those bows have a shortie limb on the bottom and a longie limb on top

In my young days when I was a merchant seaman we sometimes went ashore for a shortie. A longie was more expensive.

I think that's so the horse won't trip on it.  :biglaugh:
