Thanks Pat

Long--I've been watching the weather there and it's been just like I have here at my house, and he has a heated shop.

James is a great guy...he was at the flint ridge knapin and took time to sit me down in his tent and show me how to chip out a point. Then sent me home with a bucket of flakes.

Pat B

That sounds like James. He is very generous sharing all the info in his head and from his experiences...which is a lot. I've known James for many years and he's always been like that.

I made it back home 11:30 last night.

I know James was building Humming Bird bow's , but I did not know
Linda Graham gave him the Inventory and the business.
Un finished bows in all stages, lams, riser blocks, glass, forms, ect.

We made 2 of James bows while I was there but the rest of the time he was prepping Humming bird bows for  finish, lot's of grain filling and fine sanding, some really nice figured wood.

I will post pictures later today.
I had a great time all week, Rebecca and the kids made sure I was fed and made me feel right at Home

Looking forward to seeing all of James' goodies at the Classic. I had no doubt that Becca would take good care of you while you were there, Mark. What's one more mouth in with that group of heathens. Is the little girl still a terror. James always said she was the meanest of the bunch.  :readit:
Glad you made it there and back safely.

Breana is sweet to me, she made me a Bracelet and a Ring and her Birthday was the day I got there 9 years old

I need to add to  Bows Beers and Buddy's and Moon pies

I brought 2 Boo slats and some Blonde Ipe, and some black Diamond wood for the BBB (Bamboo back and belly) Bow
I can't tell any secrets on making these BBB
We heat treated the belly boo first and put tape on both the boo slats and ground the taper's  and started the process.

We got the riser ready for glue up
We used smooth on for the glue up

We laid out the limb width taper and sanded the sides

Glued on some limb tips and strung it up
It's amazing how close to tiller it was on first brace
Just a few scrapes and it was ready to shoot

Not a very good straight on picture of full draw

It came out to 55#@28" and after shooting and exercising the limbs 50#, just a bit heavy than we wanted

When I got there James had a glass bow off 1 of his Horn bow forms
It was real squirrely for the first one off the form, he knows what tapers to put in it now.
The string would pop off before we could get it braced
