Well, since Scott aka Friend started new bows for 2022,.....

Anyone got a jump on 2022 yet that's not in the Highlights Forum?

List your game to be BBQed or hunts coming this year where you plan on bringing in some grill fare...

LTR and LTR2 will have a few to add soon....

Bon appetit!  :campfire:

I'm hunting a couple of WMA's in East Texas this spring and summer lookin' for a couple of quart size pigs to put on the grill.  The way Mondy and today went, it looks like I'll be goin' hungry.. :biglaugh:
It's not about the kill but the experience.

Planning on a late-September, backcountry elk hunt on Colorado public land. This will be my first elk hunt and first out-of-state hunt. Go big or go home, right?

Been training since November, though Life has been getting in the way for the last couple of weeks.

I smoked half of a whitetail backstrap in an upright smoker a couple of weeks ago with Pit Barrel wild game rub on it. Tasty is an understatement!

I put a 6Lb piece of Whitetail hind quarter in a curing brine today, to make Pastrami, or Corned Venison.  Have never tried this before so its going to be an experiment.  What can go wrong?  Will find out in 2 weeks.

I will enjoy this thread, I can already tell.  With things the way they are now in my life, I may not be able to contribute much, but will enjoy others contributions to this thread as it runs along.  :archer:

Here's a pic of a venison Wellington I made a while back, it turned out absolutely delicious.

I didn't kill it this year, but here is a bison T-bone I had for supper last night!

I'll be pig hunting when I can, and deer hunting next fall. Don't have any big hints planned for 2022 as of yet.

Here is a deer roast I did over the holidays.

There are some slob toms out the back of the property here and I'm saying at least one of thems days is numbered.  I've never smoked one so I'm going to get that taken care of in the spring.   Hickory? Cherry? Apple?   Got some time to decide I guess.

Possum Head

Here's a roast off a yearling I'm cooking slow all night in a crock. It has a pack of Lipton soup mix and a whole chopped onion on it. In the morning I'll shred it and add 3 bottles of BBQ sauce and me and the boys at work will indulge in some Bergers.[attachment=1]

David, that Wellington looks fantastic!
