This won't be bows (maybe) as I've been commissioned to build something . There will be plenty left over so maybe I can buy what's left...

I asked the flintlock gun stockers from some of their fancy wood cutoffs for me to make tillering gizmos for the St Jude auction, I got 42# of wood in the mail.

Roy sent me some nice spalted wood, one guy sent me a small amount of exhibition grade walnut.

Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!
TGMM Family of the Bow

Appalachian Hillbilly

That myrtle is just WoW! Does it need to be stabilized?

garyschuler

Some yes and some no. Depends ion spalting and Burl figure. I have built lots of all Myrtle bows. I've never stabilized it myself but have had a few riser blocks stabilized.

That bottom piece of Cocobolo looks like a piece I got one time called Mexican cocobolo. It was orange with black a really unique piece. Had no trouble selling the bow I made with it.
Cocobolo is my go to for risers. Just love it but haven't purchased in a good many years. Still have a piece I'm saving to build another personal bow once I decide what I want since I may never buy another block of it again

Crooked Stic

Wish I could work with those two.

Roy be careful what wood you show here
High on Archery.

That myrtle is some of the coolest I've seen.  I just bought a small slab if it that looks like it's got some character.  App hillbilly, is that the rosewood in the second picture?
