I understand. For the people who have had knee replaced how long was it before you felt comfortable climbing and hunting from a stand..thanks

Had both knees replaced on November 26 of 2016. Was hiking in the woods in late January using a hiking staff and hung my stands for the 2017 season in late summer of 2017. Do the rehab/PT and you should be good to go!

I have done the rehab just curious how long after all of did you feel comfortable being in a stand ..

In my case it was somewhere between 6 and 8 months before I felt stable enough to climb sticks or a ladder stand. I did have both knees done at the same time, so with a single knee it may be sooner...or later. Everyone heals at a different rate. I'm 5 years out of surgery and I still do a couple of the rehab exercises 2-3 times a week.

I turkey hunted out of a blind 6 sweks after complete knee replacement. That involved carrying the pop-up blind more than a quarter mile to set it up.  Was very rigorous about rehab exercise before and after the surgury.  Didn't have full range of motion at 6 weeks, but could walk on it.  Would have had trouble climbing tree steps or a ladder then(because of less than full motion), but if deer season had been on, I certainly would have given it a try. Certainy would have been able to climb confidently by three months. I did schedule my surgery for early spring so to be ready by fall.  Turns out, recovery was a lot faster than I thought. 

I had both knees replaced Nov 29, 2017. I was back at work by Feb. somewhat limited but did it. In construction.
I was hanging tree stands by Aug/Sept and hunting. It's easier with steps a little closer together. Never felt uncomfortable in a stand but I'm always secured.
How many of you guys have your knees bothers you when weather changes?
How many click when you walk ?

Great Post; very timely.  I had a full knee replacement on 15 November 2021.  I am still on a walker and physical therapy is NOT the most fun I've ever had.  I am happy to hear about light at the end of the tunnel!  Thanks!

dnovo-I don't have any "clicking" when I walk, but the right knee makes a slight grinding sound when I squat down. My doc says it is PGS, patella grind syndrome. It is caused by scar tissue build up. It can be taken care of with arthroscopic surgery. I have no discomfort, so I am not concerned about it.

I had a total knee done in July 2 years Ago and was hunting in trees by that November I don't have any clicking but the knee still isn't perfect.
