Anybody had any experience working with Goncalo Alves, aka "Tigerwood"? I have read it can be hard to glue, but have not ever worked with any.  Thoughts? Experiences?

Shredd

I used it for risers when I made my first bows...  It was 3/4 " flooring boards that I had from a friend... Never had a problem with glue failure... Call me weird but I personally stay away from oily woods... There are tons of bowyers out there that use oily woods and have much success... Some say wipe it down good with acetone before gluing and some say, don't...

Hope this helps a little...

Crooked Stic

The only reason (if you do everything else right) having glue problems is too much moisture in the wood. Acetone not needed and may cause a bad glue joint. Tigerwood with figure is nice.
