Am most excited for the Wounded Warrior hunt on October 2nd & 3rd. Have 5 personal 6X8 ground box blinds that I can get him to. Reconnaissance will dictate which will ones will be chosen. I am doing my best to place Gil in the most promising setups. Gil has only been to the woods to hunt twice in the past 20 years. May Gil enjoy the best outdoor hunting experience.

Would love to share some of his hunt experience and hopefully, a nice harvest.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't this the same guy you introduced me to at the Tennessee Classic?  I enjoyed talking with him there, and greatly respect how far he has come in his daily battle to overcome his combat injuries.  I doubt he will remember me when you see him, but give him my best wishes and my hopes that he has a successful hunt.  Thank you for doing this, Scott.

Friend

Thank you gentlemen....

McDave....Yes, this is the same gentleman that you met at the TN Spring Classic...the Wounded Warrior Hunt was actually set up there that weekend. And I will let Gil know of your personal support as well as many others of the Trad Gang ranks.

Many of Gil's faculties have been severely compromised however, he has been gifted to be able to remain extremely competent with his longbow. I actually don't comprehend how he manages it. Thank goodness since, I have failed in training the the deer to jump on an arrow.

Fine thing you are doing Scott-thank the young man for his service-as we all should do.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Almost had to cancel due to a family emergency requiring Gil's wife to stay. Gil requires accompaniment. I offered to pick him up and would, of course, stayed in the blinds with him, His son, from North Carolina, wanted badly for Gil not to miss this hunt and is driving down to Tennessee to bring him here and sit in the blinds with him. Note: he needs eyes as he cannot see left and his right eye has only a 60 to 70-degree range of view...also, he will not hear the deer movement. This should be a wonderful experience as Gil took his son 1st hunting when he was ten and now his son is taking him hunting sixteen years later.

Worked with Gil's wife yesterday in how to use Trad Gang.  She will now be able to share the thread with him.

Gil and his son arrived Friday evening at 6:30. We enjoyed some fine mutton vittles and had a wonderful visit later than I like I had anticipated.  I didn't get much sleep as I was too excited in hoping for Gil and his son to be able to share a most memorable experience.

Saturday morning hunt:  two young bucks with one at 18 yards and the other at 25 yards. Hopefully, the afternoon hunt will be more productive.

The deer moved just prior to daylight according to eleven cell cams. Only one pic taken this morning from the eleven cell cams. Note: we often get 4000 pics a night from the eleven cell cams.
