I'll be bringing my uncles old bow with me this year. He passed a year ago. I did lots with him. Last real cowboy from NJ if you ask me. Tough as nails, didn't pull punches or mix words. His heart was gold though.
I was working this winter at my cousin Bucky's house (his son). I wouldn't accept anything but lunch as payment.
As I was leaving he asked me to wait a second, wanted to show me something. Was his dad's old Bear. Was too heavy for him. 50lbs at 28".
He asked me if I'd take it and shoot a deer with it this fall.
I did take the bow, he had it sprayed black, I'm leaving it that way. I made a string, changed the rest for shelf material and we'll be out this fall. I can't wait to send Bucky a pic. Here's one of the first shots I'd taken.
It's shooting Wapiti tapered cedar, thinking grizzly or bear glue on heads.
Thanks for everything Uncle Andy.

Touching tribute. I hope you bag one.

Bisch

I'll likely be using my Primal Tech recurve 99% of the time!

50#@29

Arrow will be a Widowmaker Smash, .400 spine, with a 45gr outsert and 150gr German Kinetic broadhead.

I said 99% of the time because I have 2 primitive bows I really want to put a notch on if I can work up the courage to take them hunting!

My 60" 47@28 Kanati will accompany me. She'll sport a EFA Cochise w/400 G/Ts. The business end pairs a 100 gr insert w/180 gr Eskimos. My foundation is a Summit Specialist open front configuration.

Possum Head

Bisch, what's that that projects out by your limb bolts? Quiver attachment? Beautiful riser wood combo!

Petrichor

Here's my chinook with the new st judes quiver. Also pictures of my backup bow which I have been inching to shoot. But it's hard to take the chinook out of my hand. It's a flatline cardiac arrest 43 @28" and is all red cedar with a bubinga riser.

Some good looking setups on here!

Michael, best of luck connecting with a deer this fall. What a great way to remember your uncle.

What a beaut. My next one is gonna be a hill style me thinks. Last one was supposed to be but bowyer talked me out of it due to draw length.... Next time I ain't listening. Though I am very happy with my bow that I did get.

I'm planning on hunting with my new (to me) Ferguson Z Bow. It's 60" and 52# @26.5", and will be shooting 2016 aluminums tipped with 125 grain Magnus Stinger 4-blades.

Will be pursuing whitetail, plus squirrel, rabbits, and—hopefully—black bear.

Squirrel Hunter

[attachment=1
Usual setup — 55 lb homemade longbow, 600 gr fir arrows with 200gr Ace Super Express heads. The only problem is, I didn't draw any tags this year (again). So, I'll be hunting squirrels, grouse, and turkeys this fall, then javelina in Jan.

Trenton G.

Probably will be using the same setup this year as the past two years, with my main bow being my 3 piece Stillwater Aberdeen recurve. 60", 57@29. I'm shooting GT trads with a 200 grain 3 blade VPA broadhead.  I'll be hunting whitetail and black bear this fall. Potentially might have a fall turkey tag in my pocket as well.

Crittergetter

Slowly but surely building myself a new bow on the side. This one will be a 60" recurve. [attachment=1]
