I'm devastated. My best friend David Landis, previously known here as Doc Nock passed away

I spoke to him maybe 7-10 days before. When I tried to reach him again I got no reply and I feared the worse. Took me a while to get up the courage to google and confirm what my head knew but my heart didn't want  to accept.

Within 30 days I lost Dave and my Dad.

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

Thanks for sharing this info. I thought a lot of Doc.

He will be missed... he was another TradGanger that I never met in person but conversed with through this platform.

God bless him and his family

That is awful news! Dave and I had became aquatinted through TG and my annual F. R. O. G stories. After he didn't visit TG as much we emailed on a somewhat consistent basic. Whenever we were up in the Gatlinburg area we would talk of meeting for coffee. We never did. And we were heading there in a couple of weeks, and he crossed my mind....

Prayers up for those he loved and left behind, R. I. P my friend.

Antonio,
We were all praying for him over the last 3 years with him battling Prostate cancer and I got to text him right before he went in the hospital and get hospice care.
If you get a chance go to the Prayer ,Praise and concerns forum and look at some of the pictures Killy posted . We will miss our Brother Doc Nock and he was on the prayer forum for over 17 years or so. As Doc would tell us "Keep The Son In Your Eyes"...I miss him here but know we will one day see each other again.

I saw he had passed on another site. Sorry, should have said something here, I assumed those who knew him personally knew he passed.

Terry Green

I saw this a few days ago on the Prayers Concerns forum. I had no idea he was sick.  He was a member here since day 2 or 3 back in March of 2003.  The was also a great cheer leader in the St. Judes Auctions.

I was sad to hear.

So sad, we came in contact here on the site while we both were having knee replacement, we compared notes and shared a prayer or two!!  He moved south as did I. May he Rest In Peace, he is with the lord !!

Another good man gone too soon. Doc sent me frequent PMs here to encourage me, check on me or just shoot the breeze. His pain is gone now and he is at peace. Rest in Peace Doc!

This one is sad to hear for sure. We never exchanged emails or had the pleasure of sharing a hunt or camp, but I did post a time or two in the prayers forum when I was struggling or seeking guidance. Doc always had the most heartfelt, sincere, prayers. I truly enjoyed reading his messages of faith and fellowship in the forum. I am certain, without any sense of doubt that he is resting at the right hand of the Father tonight, readying his quiver to go make meat.
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

So sad to hear of Davids passing. He and I met on a hunt at Whips cabin in Wisconsin as part of the St Judes auction. RIP David

This is so sad. He always had prayers for eveyone and even while suffering would encourage others. I know he is in the arms of our Lord now.

Very sad day, he is always been supporting all the other members in the need of prayers and encouragement. I am sure the good Lord will take care of him.

Crappy news. I liked Dave,  swapped emails until very recently.  I know he was disappointed in health services in his new area.

I had no idea he was as I'll as he was.

RIP Doc Noc
