Very sad news.  I never knew him, but I am sorry for you loss, and the loss to the archery community.

Nicely stated Mike, may Richard rest in peace.
...because bow hunting always involves the same essentials. One hunter. One arrow. One animal. -Don Thomas

Mike, what a wonderful tribute to your friend. When I was a kid, 57 sounded pretty old, but it's sounding pretty young to me these days.

May Richard live on through the impact he left in friends and family.

The Memorial Service/Celebration of Life for Richard today was well attended. There were over 200 people for the actual service and another 200+ that came earlier and paid the respects. There were 40 plus signed arrows left for him and several folks plan to get an arrow to the family at a later date. The sanctuary at church was decorated the way Richard would have wanted and we are leaving it that way for Sunday morning service. I want to thank everyone for the prayers and condolences. A bunch of fine folks here on the "Gang"!

I just did a search on flatstick's posts to reflect....I encourage everyone to do the same....You will see what a great bowhunter Richard was without coming across as having a big ego about his successes...Also, I would say the majority of his posts are congratulating and complimenting others....I never met Richard personally but can tell he was a great person from his TG posts.....

I didn't know him well but I met him several times. I remember him as one of those people who smiled with their eyes. I could tell just from talking to him that he was the real deal; a fine gentleman, a good family man and an exceptionally gifted bowhunter. May he rest in peace.

Prayers for comfort and strength for his family and friends.  May God rest his soul.
