Shredd that is G10 I got off the big auction. I have several cut off pieces that will work for more tips. Almost like the maple is floating.

Looks cool... Has a pearl like look to it...

I got some work done on a bow today. Osage and walnut.
I'm not sure if this will be my swap bow.

I also glued up two more risers. Canary wood, zebra wood and a mosaic accent.
I'll build another bow and decide which one to send.

Very nice, Dave

That's how I want to make the next riser I put together...

Ran into a snag and starved a glue joint gluing on the handle.  Hopefully I can fix it or I will be starting a new bow.

Thanks Roy. The mosaic is pretty easy to make. I did it wrong before and it wouldn't bend into the curve, so I glued up a block and sliced it into thin strips. Then I cut some thin veneers and ran everything through the drum sander. I was able to get the backing strips down to 1/32" thick with no problems. I do love that drum sander!

Swap bow's done and should ship out early next week. I designed this bow to be d'shaped when strung but have good speed and be easy to shoot. Green glass, boo cores, locally cut walnut, some red elm accents and 64"50#.

Ok, I have plan A in place and I am happy enough with it that I see no need in plan B. However, I am never opposed to having backups so I would welcome input on Plan A backups.

Plan A is Bocote riser and veneers.

[attachment=1,msg2958021][attachment=5,msg2958021]

Plan A backup 1, Cedar riser with I beam, just not sure between bocote or maple for the I beam.

[attachment=2,msg2958021][attachment=3,msg2958021]

Plan A backup 2. Cherry riser and no clue on the veneers. Far left is a wood that I can't seem to retain the name of, no matter how many times Kenny tells me. You can see in the pic that it seems to darken over time, like Osage. Then we have Birdseye maple, spalted maple, cedar and curly maple. The maples, I was thinking about dying to a color that would be better suited with the cherry. I welcome any input on the options.

I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means

Green glass and walnut look great together. Especially with the bamboo for contrast. Very nice bow.
Skeater, it's hard to choose. I like the spalted maple and also the cedar the most, but any of your choices will look great.
