I made my own tree saddle setup including a ring of steps. I currently have marine carpet glued to the steps to deaden the sound of them knocking together when setting up etc. The steps are aluminium.

I thought of plastidip but the salesman at the auto store told me not to bother. His experience was that it is too soft and not durable enough.

Then I thought about something like Rhino bed liner but one place wanted AU$330 the coat my 6 brackets while doing another job. heaven knows how much it must cost to spray a truck bed!!!!

Fluidized bed powder coating with thermoplastic would be ideal but I can't find anywhere here that does it, nor can I find anyone that even sells the powder for me to DIY powder dip it.

any ideas?

Goodmorning Ozzy.
Would like to see your saddle!
As for the coating, I would at least try the plastic dip. I wouldn't settle on a parts store Salesmans advice!
It is easy enough to apply.

Stealth Strips is what I see most guys using on the main Saddle hunter site.
Everything I have and have become is due to the Lord and his great mercy.

I use between 4-7 treehopper steps for my ring of steps. They're on a strap with an over the center buckle. I quiet the steps with camo vet tape from tractor supply. It doesn't last forever but is easily applied and works good.
