I ordered some Montana Pitch Blend,and was wondering if I should apply it to the part of the finger stall that touches the string or just on the sides? I'm going to use it on a American Leathers crossover.

Ken Taylor

I've been using Montana Pitch Blend for many years.

I put on a good amount, then I rub it in well on the entire glove.

I let it sit for about a day then rub it again if need be.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Thanks Ken. It should be here today,and I'll get after it.

I wash and treat my Damascus glove every year with Montana Pitch Blend. I usually put it on pretty thick and let it sink into the leather then wipe off the excess. Never had a problem with it on the fingertips or stalls.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

Sounds good ya'll. I just didn't know if it would reduce the slickness on the string. That's good to know.

FWIW on the finger stalls, I lube the string contact area with Coconut Oil ... it's more slippery than even silicon-based lubricants! And it's a natural product, so I'm ... uhhhh, sorta traditional.

Question on the coconut oil;
Does it attract Yellow Jackets, aka Meat Bees ??????

Thanx !!!!

Alexander Traditional

Just got it in the mail,and lubed it up. Looks like a great product. I will keep the coconut oil in mind too.
