To your victim?  You can ship however you please as far as I'm concerned, or am I missing something here?

Roy from Pa

My swap bow is getting close but still have a ways to go.

After cutting 1.5" off the top limb, I then had to change the arrow shelf position.

Threw a curve ball at me but I got her looking decent.

It's going to come in right about 55 pounds, so I'm pretty good with the weight.

I now got 6 nice pieces of wood to choose from... The one with the most pronounced grain has a bunch of small knots along the edge and I don't see how I can strategically incorporate them knots... Another piece with nice grain has a knot right where a fade would be...  Bad news...  So that actually makes 4 to choose from...   :dunno:  :)

Looks Good Royster...

Should we ship UPS instead  of USPS?
If you don't mind, I would prefer if you ship to me using USPS. I hate ups. They always add extra bs charges.

Duly noted Dave.  Let me know if there is any specific way we should be handling your shipping when the time comes.

Sorry. I don't mean to sound like a jerk. I order a lot from the US and I find that USPS has the best service. ( I hope that I didn't jinx myself ) 🙂
The couriers always add extra charges that the mail never does.
On another note, I spent some time going through my bow wood. I have cherry, maple, walnut, hickory, jatoba, padauk and purple heart for core lams as well as bamboo for at least three bows. Lets hope I get it right the first time.
I'm leaning towards a cherry core. My sweetest shooter has a cherry core.

No worries, you don't.  I am genuinely curious because I haven't dealt with that before.  Just trying to keep the machine running smooth.

Very nice, David.

Got the riser cleaned up and glued it and the tip overlays on the bow.

My biggest concern was getting the center strip of the riser centered with the boo backing, never did a 3 section riser before.

It was sort of a guessing thing as the Osage belly was not exactly the same width on each side sticking out past the boo backing, was about 1/8th difference. Time will tell, heck I'm hoping for Kenny's name anyways:)

I precut the end of the riser before glue up to make it easier to finish it after glue up. I always need to be careful shaping removing wood off the end of the riser without removing wood from the belly lam.

Did I mention that patience is not one of my best traits?:)

Riser glued on with unibond800 and tips glued on with EA40.

I first wrap the tips with plastic wrap, then secure with heavy gum bands.

Roy I would like to see the fade area after the fades are shaped.
I like it

Holy crap!  I was unaware this was happening as things have been arriving here without issue.  Is anyone else having problems?

Roy from Pa

I've had zero problems with usps, ups or fed x the past year.

I heard USPS is run by a new guy that is trying to cut corners, I guess to save money...  I would like to ship my bow through Amazon...  They seem to have their chit together...

kennym

Yes, USPS is backed up , covid probs is what I'm told.  NY mail going thru KC as the NY has so many workers out with covid.  But Max package is where?  If you don't get any answer , let me know , I'll send more with somebody else.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I understand that the mail is moving more slowly than before, it is what it is.
My issue is that I'm across the border. It never fails if something is sent by courier, they find every excuse to add extra charges.
Example: last summer I ordered a starter switch from Grizzly and, being in a rush, I forgot to ask them to mail it. It came by ups. Months later, I got a bill from ups. I called and asked what I was being billed for and was told that it was a brokerage fee. I asked why the fee was two thirds the value of what I ordered. The person on the phone went quiet for a bit and then he said " oh I see that the  seller has already paid half the fee. You only have to pay us the other half." BS!
That was just one example. With the mail, most often there are no other charges.
You might say that they need brokers to get things across the border. The mail manages without.

You may be a grumpy old coot, but it needed to be discussed.
