So Dave, you left Holly, Michigan to move to Central Florida?  I hope you're in The Villages - then I'd understand the move.  Although leaving the Michigan cold and snow behind sounds better each year.  I wish you well in Florida.

Florida like most of the southeast has abundant hog populations you can hunt them year round on private land, and a lot of the time on public land. Florida has a lot of public land and your probably not far from some good deer/hog/small game and of course the only place in the world to kill an Osceola Gobbler. Check out the Florida fish/game website that lists public areas. Might be a little adjustment period in the summers lol.

What Deno said. Right a lot of management areas are open for small game of which hogs are included.
Just check out WMAs near you for the info. Salt Lake and Seminole Ranch are on the east side where I go. Lots of pigs but it's much different woods than up north. Got tall waterproof boots?  :goldtooth:

My Mother lived in Inverness in the early 1990's and I hunted Citrus WMA and Jumper Creek WMA. I had know clue what I was doing then and I saw deer and hogs so I'm sure you will do fine. If you want to go with an Outfitter than  check out Hoppy at Osceola Outfitters.

I hunted Florida a couple years ago. I am going back this March on a hog hunting trip. Florida is a fun place to hunt. I saw a lot of deer and turkey. We killed several hogs with our bows.

We were in south central Florida. Good luck on your move. You will have plenty of hunting opportunities.

Don't over look the military bases, anyone can hunt them, Im not sure what is around you in the central part, but in the panhandle there is plenty of spots ,both the Air force base and WMA area's..Bring your tick and Skeeter spray, and don't worry about wool clothes..Good luck
