I have a few buddy's that like to get together for some late season deer drives with archery equipment. Today we were out and I was fortunate to get a shot at an antlerless deer. My 47# shrew 'lil favorite' sent the arrow perfectly to its mark !  Anybody else like doing drives with archery gear ?

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

We haven't done deer drives in about 20 years since brother died.

Love late season deer drives with snow.  I miss more than I hit but still is a lot of fun.  Congratulations

Deer drives, or rather pushes, is the only way we hunt the late season. We have a woodlot that is perfect for it. The standers positions are at a ridge where the deer pause and walk as they enter the lower portion to the field. We would never take a running shot.

Congratulations!  I've been solo hunting for deer since the 70's.  Used to gun hunt with family as a youngster.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Our hunting party used to make drives all the time. Now there's only three left and two don't hunt anymore. So now...I sit a lot ! Congrats on your deer.

Congrats. Yes we do deer pushes with bows, I've shot a half dozen deer that way. You get good at predicting  how deer use wind based on the pace of the drive. I always bring a pruning shears to trim a few twigs for a shooting lane and hide behind a tree, as deer approach I put my back to the tree and squirrel around tree where I boot scraped the leaves down to dirt to eliminate noise, then  shoot em as they pass by.
