Just ran into this post figured I'd comment.
David is a fantastic individual and makes an awesome product. I actually have 2 of them. Bought my first one around 12 years ago and currently in the process of getting the newer/taller version. My personal opinion, you will not find a better or more comfortable seat for ground hunters on the market. You also have the opportunity to talk with an extremely nice and helpful fella that has tweaked and scrubbed these seats into what I think is the best ground hunting seat I've ever had the pleasure of setting my backside in!

Only problem I've had with the seat is when I turkey hunt in a blind and I'm seated for a long time. My tail can get a blister from sliding on the seat. Solution is a gel foam pad that makes it even more comfortable...tippit

I have had mine for many years now. It is the only portable seat I do not hate. I am packing it in on the upcoming PBS Davis Mountain hunt for a camp chair. We are packing in a weeks worth of everything, It is still going on the outside of my mystery ranch Metcalf.  I could actually put all my gear in a dry bag and strap it to the packseat and it will work just as well.

I like setting against a tree like this photo as much as I do stand alone with back legs support out.  With a bow quiver on bow, haversack for a few supplies and the cushion showing here, you can sit comfortably for hours and hours and be totally mobile.  My haversack includes a little folding saw, set of clippers, zip ties and the head off a small plastic toy rake that I use for clearing leaves and debris.

I got mine at the end of the 2019 season, so this was the first full season of use, and it's been great. The only thing I'd change would be the height...at 6'3" it sits a little low for me. I've heard that David can make them taller, but his website states that there is only 1 size/style of seat. Does anyone have any experience with a taller version or a conversion that might work?

RANGER94

Dave did ask for my height, and at 6 foot, I will be fine with his standard seat.  He did mention he does make them taller for taller people.

He makes custom leg extensions.  Should be easy fix.

Ok, good to know.  I'll give him a call.  Thanks

I love mine and have killed a bunch of critters out of it.  I think it is perfectly fine for big guys.

When I first got mine, I thought I could improve on it.  I came up with a nifty swivel seat and, against Davids recommendations, had him make my seat the taller version.  Well, for the first month I used my swivel seat ,which worked great, but after using the the Pac Seat as David designed it, I realized it was more comfortable and functional just the way it came out of the box.  Today I cut the legs and returned it to Dave's originally designed height.  It is now perfect.  Dave has designed and refined this seat to perfection.  He has simplified it and removed every unnecessary ounce.  From where I sit, the Pac Seat is pure perfection.
