I picked up a beautiful possibles bag at the St. Judes auction this year and would like to stain it. Given the fact that it is already very pretty I want to be sure I do it right but I think my wife would enjoy it more if our little ones hands were stained on the bag. Does anyone have any ideas?

I wouldn't use leather dye on their hands. There are fabric paints that might work. Don't know how durable it would be.

Could always try walnut shucks if you want to stay natural.

Maybe you could trace there hands onto cardboard , cut it out and then put a generous amount of leather dye onto the cut out. Then carefully apply the cut out onto it and then lift off

Walnut stain would also stain the kids hands. It pretty permanent. You could also use acrylic craft paint that would wash right off the kids hands and you get a wide choice of colors.

You could use a water base leather stain you can get it off your hands but it will require a lot of scrubbing with a scouring pad, and may not get it all off.

Acrylic paint will work good and will wash off their hansa with soap and water.

How about using surgical gloves?
