Overspined

Here's a few. I think from Trad I've only killed a couple with carbons. I would use wood or aluminum over carbon at this point. Wood in nice.

I switched to wood arrows this summer. Douglas fir. Sure wood shafts and Wapiti shafts. I took a nice buck and yearling doe with them. I also made some for my hunting partner of twenty-seven years who took his first trad kill with one as well.

When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

My first bear with a bow. 6' foot bear shot with a 60/65 Elite Sitka Spruce out of a 53# Blacktail.

I have aluminum, carbon, and wood arrows.
To me wood is what I really like to shoot. Now I use Surewood Douglas Fir from Snag.

Great kills everyone! Awesome stuff with wood arrows,or any arrow for that matter!

Terry Green

Wood arrow kills will exceed us long after we are dead.....  All other materials pale in comparison.... same as animals that fell to arrows vs bullets... just a heads up of truth.

Love this thread, it's been quite a while since I had a wood arrow kill, I pretty much moved to aluminum a lot of years ago with some woodies mixed in. Pretty cool seeing these in the days of everyone worrying about EFOC on skinny carbons. I may dig out some cedars after seeing this... keep em coming

I've been fortunate enough to get these two deer this year, both with Douglas Fir arrows by Snag.  Fir meets Fur.   :coffee:
