Selling my wheel bow, as soon as that's gone I'm ordering a Black Widow recurve, and am looking at arrows.

Looking at the Beman Centershot or Dark Timber arrows, havent seen the Dark Timber shafts in person and wondering if anyone has used both if you have a preference.

Going to be shot from a 47# BW at my 28" draw with Palmer Extreme 4 blade heads for whitetail and turkey until I can make it back out west after different game.

I shot some of the Dark Timber, when they were passed around. They are very good arrows, and the price is very good.
I'm sure I will order some in the future.

With that being said I have some 500 full length Center Shot that are some of the easiest arrows I've ever tuned. I will always keep some on hand.

Similar question on another site. It was mentioned that Beeman won't be making this shaft in 2021. It will appear as an Easton shaft.
I was gifted one to try. After shooting a round with it I went home and ordered a doz. I may order more soon.

I'm not honestly sure that I would believe an internet rumor about an arrow manufacturer not producing those shafts anymore.

Plus Easton and Beman have been under the same ownership for years now that isnt a new development.

I asked Big Jim about them, because I didn't know if he was going to phase them out,and just sell the Dark Timbers.

He said Easton was going to get rid of the Beaman line, and it would be the same arrow just under the Easton name.

Car54

Big Jim only has the 400 spine right now.

Iowabowhunter

Well as long as they are going to stay being made i couldnt care less what the label is as long as they are the same specs haha.

So back to my original question I guess-Dark Timber or the easton/beman centershot?

I shoot only Dark timber great arrow. Great price. Might have to wait on your spine size to become available  but that is the only drawback in my opinion

Texoma

I shot the Beeman centershots for 2 years. This year I ordered 1/2 dozen Dark Timbers to try out and promptly ordered another 1/2 dozen. The Dark Timbers seem to be easier to tune for me and they are quieter in a back quiver.

The center shots are just tough.  I thought Black Eagle Vintage were tough but these are double tough.
Only complaint is the smaller diameter means smaller insert weights if you go that way and right now none are available.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

check your dark timbers for straightness before you cut and put wraps on them, last batch i got were to crooked to hunt with. i was disappointed.

Looks like I can get 75 gr inserts for the centershots as well which is nice. Ill likely foot them just to make a super durable arrow

Hah just realized 3 rivers is out. Interesting that they wouldn't have them in stock. Still shows its ordersble so just tells me that they are gearing up for the move to Easton, but you'd think they would have them available

Both are great arrows. I have shot the Dark Timbers since Big Jim came out with them and I really like them.

Thanx for the heads up.  Ordered a dozen 400s and a dozen 340s this morning.

I picked up 6 Dark timber arrows in a trade, and I gotta tell you they are really good shafts and I like them

This is the arrow that's replacing the Beman Centershot. The GPI is not quite the same (except for the 500 spine), and the straightness is not the same (.006 versus .003).

I have a couple of the new ones to play with, but haven't gotten around to shooting them yet.

GCook

I may just pick up a couple more dozen center shots before they are gone.

Arrow30, why wouldn't you bring that to our attention? I have seen 1 arrow in 10,000 that would have fallen outside the .006 specs. I haven't even had a single complaint about straightness either... not saying you didn't have issues.

Pretty good poke... the carbon legacy is not going to replace the centershots. They are their own individual arrow.

The cenershot went from a beaman centershot to a easton centershot and other than label should have no other changes.

The Legacy was/is supposed to be the easton arrow with a slightly better price point... however, since they have a MAP on it as they do on most of their other shafts, it will actually be more expensive than the centershots from us anyway.

Most sell the centershots for upwards of $90 per dz. Since there isn't a MAP on centershots, we can sell them for $69.99 per dz.
