Got in my ground blind and found a couple guests.

Paper wasps? I am very allergic to them, just sensitive to other yellowjackets, hornets and wasps.
Those guys could really mess up your hunt.

Those things can have a temper too!

I have a hidden hunter blind, and got in it one afternoon, and it was crawling with 🦂 :o

As the sun warmed up they began looking pretty upset about me being so close. Less than 4ft. To say the least I scooted to the other side of the small alcove in the small wild plum thicket.

Those dang things will make you hurt yourself!!

Some soapy water in a plastic squirt bottle will kill them dead as a hammer!

My advise is to hunt them down before they hunt you down.  I agree with Bisch, those things will have you running and swinging wildly and your yelling will spook every the deer in the county.  Kill 'em - Kill 'em All!   :knothead:

Practice - Practice - Practice - Beer.  Works for me . . .

I would've just set the blind on fire. Nope, nope and NOPE!

Whilst setting in both ground blinds and elevated blinds in Texas you learn to ignore them really no getting rid of them.

Soapy water in a spray bottle will kill them dead as a hammer! It really will and doesn't leave the smelly residue that wasp/hornet aerosol spray cans do.

Sam McMichael

I just use hornet/wasp spray that kills on contact. The nest is destroyed and the smell dissipates overnight. I don't know if it is true or not, but I have heard that the old nest should not be knocked down. Accordingly, wasps will not build nests too close to already existing nests. If this is so, then you are less likely to have new renters move into the property.

You should have shot a judo into their hive just to see what would happen.

I'd like to see what happens with the judo through the nest.  Video??   LOL

Yikes! I'll take the squirrel passing next to my foot like I had earlier this week. You can keep the flying critters.

I seriously considered shooting it, only had a field tip in my hip quiver and didn't feel like loosing/looking for it. But I can imagine the video being something like that from an old Johnny Knoxville show, intro included: Hi, I'm Albert and this is....., and my hunting partner is going to stand right here next to it.

Well, had another guest in the thicket a couple days ago. This guy and I didn't get along well.

I remember visiting Maine when my father was a Customs Inspector way up in Vanceboro and the locals getting worried about a summer rain storm, and the heat/humidity that would follow. At the time I lived on Lake Texoma in North Texas. Was quite humorous.
