Been using 12 strand D97 strings for a while but just got some X99 to try. Can anyone tell me what strand count for the X99 would be about the same as 12 strands of D97?

Roy from Pa

Maybe a few more stands than the D97.

I use BCY-X and need 18 strands padded to 24 at the loops.  BCY website says X99 is smaller and need 2-4 more strands but I've never used it.

I have been using x99 for a while now.  Slowly phasing out all the X I have as I run out of it.  In my experience, 16 strands of x99 is about the same as 12 of X.  18-20 strands of X is VERY close to 12 strand of D97.  I would bet you're looking at 24 strands of x99 to achieve the same nock fit.
