I just found out John Schulz passed away today at the age of 88. He was truly an inspiration and mentor to many and he will be dearly missed.

Friend

We were blessed with a wonderful gift in John.

The time has come to return that gift.

Thank you for having blessed us abundantly.

May John rest peacefully in your arms.

Sorry to see this.  The article about him by Sam Fadala in February 1977 Bowhunter magazine is what moved me from recurves to a Howard Hill Tembo longbow that fall.  Still shooting that bow today.  God speed Mr. Schulz

Our Brother comes to you, as swift and straight, as an arrow shot into the sun.

Welcome him, to his place at the Eternal Campfire....
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

I see we have two threads about John's passing.

I first met John in Pa in 1980 at the archery event in Forksville. some years later I invited him to the Great Lakes Longbow Invitational in Michigan.

He did shooting demonstrations and sold his no glass bamboo longbows. I think that was the last time I saw him in person. He was a great man that influenced a lot of people in traditional archery. He was our last link to Howard Hill and he will be missed. Rest in piece John
