First of all...if this is in the wrong section, mods or admin feel free to relocate.

Most of my arrows have a long cap dipped area extending to the front of the fletching (see pic below). I always thought it might be a really cool feature to affix a label (as in black writing on clear tape) with the name or nickname of the archer imprinted, then do my clear coat over the shaft before fletching. It would be nice to do it in script if possible. Has anyone tried this, and if so, which label maker did you choose? There are some decent looking ones out there for under a hundred dollars but the reviews and such don't comment on what font and scripts are available. I would appreciate any feedback from arrowsmiths who may have tried this with any success.

Area where label would go is white cap in front of fletching. These were some I made for my son...would have loved to put his name on them!

Can you think of any scenario where you might not want someone knowing it was your arrow?  Just asking??   

A cool idea. I just watched the video and the process looks easy. Like you mentioned I don't see anything about fonts or the size of the print. The print in the example would be to large for an arrow.

Not really...

Pretty sure I just googled water slide decal paper, and purchased it online. There are two types, one for inkjet printers, and one for lasers. Instructions are supplied with the paper. It's really simple to do. You print on the paper as you would do normally, then apply a cellulose finish over the top. Once dried, it's like putting decals on the old model kits. Once the decal was in place, I put a final coat of sealer over the entire shaft.

Back in the day, Texas required all arrows used in a hunt to be marked with the hunters name.....  Not so any longer.

Not for any specific reason, I dont like the idea of having my name on an arrow.

I hunt Government land and they require name and tag number on your arrows.

I do the same thing as Longbow 1415 on my wooden arrows.  I just print out the water transfer decals and attach them to the arrows.  Spray a thin coat of sealer over it and once dry, full length dip the shaft.  They come out looking great and there is enough paper in the pack to do about a 1,000 arrows if you space your printings out correctly.  Only down side I have seen is that although they come out looking great and sharp initially, after 2-3 years the black starts to fade some and turns into a gray.  May just be the printer I am using though.

Not sure if you're familiar with True North Arrows or not, but Joe has been doing the custom arrows for Bear and Black Widow.  I think he is using some sort of ink stamp, you can check them out on their web sites, and on his.  He's a great guy to deal with, if you contact him i'm sure he'd be glad to give you any information he can.
