I wanted to try a new batch of string wax and this one I do believe is "Just Right"  it has a very pleasant outdoor aroma that is all Natural .
Pure Bees wax ,pine rosin that had no junk like bark or bugs from Georgia pines right here in the USA.
  I like the feel of how "Tacky" this batch is when twisting up my strings .

  I got 10 of the 4 oz . Cakes and 4  of the 2 oz. in this batch but I have lots of 2 oz. from a batch I made just over a year ago and some 1 oz. cakes as well.
   The other batch's are good and tacky but I made this one with a bit more pine rosin for a better hold when I'm making my strings . It's not just good for bowstrings but lots of other uses as well like rubbing on your quiver stitching , waxing a rope , could even use to flip through pages while reading a good Traditional Bowhunting book like "One with the Wilderness" or "Once upon a Tine"... It has a tackiness that if you just take your finger and rub across the surface you can pick up a piece of paper or flip through pages easy.
   I'm sure you could put a small bit on a Axe Handle to grip it better as well.
  Many uses besides just waxing a string.Could probably wax a mustache with it and have that outdoorsy smell .

Add some bear fat for a good leather dressing.

would you be willing to share what kind of rosin you are using and what ratio of bee's wax to rosin you are using?
I have made string wax that was about 1 part bee's wax to 1 part toilet bowl ring that work well, but I'm always looking for improvements.

I use to buy pitchers rosin in the little bags that baseball pitchers use from sports supply stores

I have a couple of pounds of resin that was collected from spruce or pine trees. Can that be used?

   Here is the Rosin I used fellas and it was real clean but if you live in an area with lots of pine trees and can harvest your own that makes it more special for sure.
   Here's what I used straight from Georgia and made in the USA .You can search the web and buy it by the pound for around $20.00 or even less .
   Most of you probably have it right in your own yard and don't even know it but I made some from my White pines a few years ago and I had to clean and clean to get junk out so buying it straight from Georgia was much easier and cleaner.
  You might be able to find it at places like Hobby Lobby, craft stores or just search for it .

  Absolutely and be careful heating it in a small metal pot to add to your bees wax cause it can "Flash" very quickly . Just have a fire extinguisher handy or close by as a precautionary measure.
   Basically tree sap of any pine would give you that "Tack" you desire when making strings but there are lots of other uses as well.
  I didn't mention you can get it in a powder form as well.
Bull riders use it and so does many ball players to get that tack or grip they desire.

  Ok How is this for "Tacky"? I had a fan blowing on the paper and just ran my tip of finger across the top of one of the Wax cakes . I think one could use it to pull ticks off their skin lol.

do you have any idea of about how much resin you add per pound of bee's wax??

I'm also interested in the ratio.  I have over 10 lb of wax sitting around from my bees and my wife just ordered some rosin for making those cutesy cloth/beeswax food wraps.  So while we're at it, I may as well make something else.
