My BIL had this case. When I saw it I instantly thought....takedown case!!  Should be big enough for riser and two sets of limbs.

I think I'm gonna try and convert my one piece into a three piece. But I got a few questions/ideas.

I think I'm gonna have a drilling jig made for one bolt and two pins (one on each side of bolt).  That way I can mount it to a large flat surface and can just clamp all pieces down and drill without having to flip pieces over.

My first question.... how long are y'all making your riser pads?  I'm thinking 4" pads with 1" spacing between bolt and pins.

Second question.....I have built 56-60" bows off the one piece form using  an 18" riser and a 20-22" power lam. I plan to drop down to a 14" riser on the TD. How long of a wedge/power lam would you suggest?

Crooked Stic

17 in. riser bolt hole 3 in from end of riser. bolt hole in limb 1 1/2 from butt. make a jig for a straight tapered wedge. this eliminates a PL and you can adjust wedge length for longer or shorter draws. mine is .250 - .000 in 10.5 in. and could be longer for shorter draws. See GREEN
High on Archery.

Thanks Mike.
Those are just the kinda numbers I was looking for.

I'm sure there are other variations. Anyone else wanna share?

This one is 58", 12-3/4" riser, wedge sticks out 3-1/2" past the riser, .036 per inch taper

Thanks Mark.
What kind of bolt spacing are you using?

This bow is very different from what others do, I was just wanting you to know that .036 taper on the butt wedge at 3-1/2" (.126 at end of riser) will bent up close to the riser. ;)
limb pad is 2-7/8"
bolt is in the center
dowels either side of that.
If you want a short bow this could work.

What size is that case? It looks really big in the picture :dunno:

If you could get some arrows in there too would be awesome ;)
