Quick question for you guys that shoot wood or swaged aluminum. I don't have any wood,but I do have a lot of aluminum that require glue on nocks. I'm getting to where I like them,but they seem to get nocked off pretty easy. I like shooting at stuff on the ground tennis balls,beer cans all sorts of stuff. When they hit the ground real hard and the tail end hits the ground they seems to get nocked off pretty easy,and it's driving me nuts.

Do any of you have this problem? If you do,do you have any suggestions? I've had the worst luck with macro nocks. I'm wondering if the plastic is harder and more brittle? I'm using Big Jim glue. I also wonder if a different glue might work better?

Been using Bohning Classic Index Nocks, glued onto my wooden shafts with an industrial super glue (CA) for quite some years now.  Sorry, cannot recall the brand at the moment, but will check and report back later if you'd like. Never had a nock come off unless I've got lucky (or un-lucky, depends how one sees it) and hit the nock with another arrow.

I've used Duco to glue on my nocks for as long as I can remember. It's the only thing I use Duco for and have never had problems.

Might be the glue then. No need to look up the brand Lex,I've got some super glue may give that a try. Don't have any Ducco,or I would try it.

I use the bohning classics as well, with gorilla glue CA, usually the green cap gel.
I usually only break them with direct hits or when I hit a rock.

Good info. I see you guys referring to CA,what does that stand for? I have blue cap super glue,what is green cap?

CA = cyanoacrylate =superglue.
The green cap is the gel, so it's just a little thicker.  The marketing says its formulated for impacts.....Not sure if it really holds better

Good to know, I will try what I have and if it doesn't work get some of the green cap in small amounts.

I use Marco nocks but on wood and Saunders NPV glue they never come off .

Great question and here's my 2 cents I think that the fluorescent colors are more brittle than solid colors. I switch from Flo Red to white and yellow and use NVP glue and have no problems and I think my bow is quieter.

I did switch to NPV for my feathers. I'm going to give the super glue,and the NPV glue a try.
