With most of the big draws completed,  did any one score a good tag?  I struck out on 14 drawings.  I guess I will be purchasing a land owner voucher.

ESP

Wow nothing. I was hoping to build up some hunt Motivation and prep.  :dunno:

Ted Fry

We have not completed our draw here in Oregon yet, deadline for applications were May 15th and we dont find out till June 20th, then scramble to set up plans for Sept.

twitchstick

I drew a Arizona late season archery bull tag.

ESP

Twitch. Nice. May I ask how many points it took?  I have 3 in AZ.  Are you planning on setting water holes?

Outwest

Still waiting for the draw to happen here in Washington. Should be sometime in the next week or so.

Hackbow

We were not successful in our draw, so OTC for us. It's still the mountains and still chasing elk with sticks!

ESP

I will be chasing mule deer between Pueblo and Colorado Springs in November. I've eaten more mule deer tags than I care to admit.  Maybe this year will be my first mule deer

Congratulations twitch.  I hope you have a great encounter with a big 6 point.

highcountry

Twitch, what area did you draw over here in AZ?  Lots of elk in 6A and 8 now for the summer feed.  :bigsmyl:

twitchstick

High country I drew 5 B south

highcountry

That is a great area for the late hunt. Good luck and shoot  :archer2:

John Cholin

I was successful in drawing a bull elk tag in Montana for this coming September.  I hunt with Absaroka-Beartooth Outfitters in Big Timber, MT.

I had two close calls last year.  The first was a spike bull that passed within 3 feet of me.  I don't shot spike anything so he got a pass.  Then a nice 4x5 bull came in, definitely a shooter as far as I am concerned.  But he passed about 50 yards from me and that is just too far for me and my recurve.  So he is still out there, I hope.

I'm shooting every day, hiking 2.5 miles every afternoon after work and lifting weights; trying to get this 71 year-old body into shape.  It keeps you young, and ... foolish.

My best friend is my dog,
my best bow is my Bear Cheyenne.

ESP

Awesome John,  I'm doing a weighted backpack hikes, stair master or wind sprints.   Shooting everyday also.  I went to Cabela's this past Saturday and bought a vortex razor spotting scope and a fleece wind stopper vest. I have everything I need for my trip.

Our draw is next week here in Wyoming, and I know I will come up with elk, deer, and antelope but I don't know if they will be good tags or general on the elk or deer Our draw is next week here in Wyoming, and I know I will come up with elk, deer, and antelope but I don't know if they will be good tags or general on the elk or deer. I did pick up a South Dakota archery tag, but otherwise nothing doing.
is it September yet??

ESP

Huntnmuleys I've heard that there really is no bad tag in Wyoming.  Just some are much more elite locations.

huntnmuleys

I would definitely agree. Elk hunting is my passion by far, and I think hunting in a lot of the general units is pretty dang good.
is it September yet??

Goneriding

My brother and I drew Colorado mule deer. Our plan is to hunt elk or deer in the same unit every year on an alternating tag basis.
