The woman I bought this house from had a lot of old tires she left. I was about to take them to a place I could get rid of them. I was at work one day,and thought of this. Nothing fancy, but it sort of makes it fun. I just lag bolted all of the tires together, and got cardboard and stapled it on there.

Those tractor tires do not look worn out and they bring some good money.

I'll second what reddogge said about the tractor tires.  Those lugs dont look worn at all.  They could be worth some bucks if ya did not put any lag bolts through them.

At least someone commented positively!

The tires are shot, and have gashes in the side.

I think you had a great idea, and everyone who would prefer to discuss the price of old tractor tires should put their money where their mouth is and make you an offer. 😋

Thanks that is exactly what I was thinking. It's just a fun little thing, and it's brought some joy to me.

I've been shooting a little but not enough.  Living in town has it's challenges.

Personally I am jealous you have land to shoot on. The tire backstop was a good way to "recycle" those old tires. At least when you take them to the dump you can feel satisfied you got some use from them. Just be careful no arrows bounce back at you.

I posted above regarding the value of what I saw in the pic's the OP posted.  I DID NOT POST AS A NAY SAYER.

My reasoning was that perhaps they had some value.  Obviously their value is better served as a target set up.

I meant nothing disparaging in my comment.

Great idea!  I've thought of using old tires for a backstop by filling with sand or dirt, but have not come up with enough old tire to do it yet.  But, my truck and the wife's jeep are wearing down their tires.....

I bounced an arrow from a lightweight bow off a tire when I was a kid at close range and it came back and stuck nock first in the corner of my eye. If it had been a quarter inch more to the left then it would have been the pupil and I would not be typing this with a right eye today.

Please don't let children play near those tires with bows.
