Put the finish on the second granddaughter bow.  Decided not to stain the maple riser and do kinda like the look.  The form for these little bows was a reduction of the full size form template for the full size bow.  Just did a percentage reduction in cad .  Simple as that.  Here's a picture of a full size and the little bow together.  Big bow is 60" and the little is 50".

Monty...  So Cool that you did that...  It's hard to visualize what a smaller bow looks like, so being next to a standard bow gives you a better idea...

Mike, I've found the shape can be percentage but stack is harder to guess. Did you  % that also?

I think that plain Maple looks good. Simple and clean. It's easy to get caught up in the quest for the "bling" look. I know, I have been guilty of unnecessary adornments.  :bigsmyl:

No, I kinda swagged based on suggestions from Jess Stuart.   These could've had a little thicker stack but better light than heavy.  Also would benefit from less thickness taper.  This totals. 004 which I went with due to maintaining the width well out the limb.  These two girls will out grow these pretty quickly so they will be due for something off the full size form.

I was a little bit surprised at how well worked.   If you look carefully you can see that the little bow is reflexed a bit more.   That's because the thin limbs had almost zero spring back off the form.

flem, I have a bunch of well seasoned maple and plan to use more of it.   Especially with an ASL it doesn't look good when it gets on the gaudy side.  Just my opinion on that.

I like it as it is. Maybe a simple leather grip.

I agree. Looks good already but a brown leather grip would really set it off.

looks like you got a nice Ash there :biglaugh:
I agree with the consensus, looks nice. Maybe when you finish it, give it a little amber tone, like old school varnish look.
